In the middle of exams....

Right after the wedding and mini-honeymoon, I was back in school for a week and then it was time for Thanksgiving and some serious studying and outlining before exams started the next week. I also had my note for First Amendment Law Review due before Thanksgiving.

Needless to say, things have been very busy. We were so excited and thankful that we got all our thank-you notes done before Thanksgiving. We did have some spare time after Thanksgiving to decorate the house for Christmas so that was fun.

Now I’m in full-mode for exams but will be done next week....then we are heading on our honeymoon. I’m so excited- we are going back to Beijing for Christmas! It is going to be great to see our friends and hit up our old stomping grounds. I’m also VERY EXCITED about the food!!!! That is one of the things I miss the most.

Since Facebook will be blocked and I doubt I will buy a VPN since I’m only going to be there for a short time, I will probably be posting more here on the blog, so stay tuned!

Good Intentions

Wow! I had every intention of keeping this blog and wedding blog up-to-date but life has just been too busy. Blogging when I lived in China was so much fun and an integral part of my days most of the time. I hope after life settles down with wedding planning and law school I can devote the time and attention I want to blogging again....

Last weeks of freedom

And I mean that in a literal and figurative sense. I start my 2L year on August 29 (a week and a half) and then life will get very busy....and it will go by so fast that before I know it, I will be a married woman!

I am excited and I hope that the days pass slowly and I enjoy them and remember them. It seems like only yesterday that I was in my junior year of college with the girls above. My “fab” friends.

Find yourself

My first date with Robb was dinner and a Disney movie- Finding Nemo. Our next date we watched Cars. This song (by Brad Paisley) was at the end of the movie and it pretty much summed up my experience in China.

“When you find yourself in some far off place,
And it causes you to rethink some things.
You start to sense that your slowly becoming someone else,
and then you find yourself. ”

I was just thinking of this tonight and wanted to post. I’ve been back in the States over a year and sometimes I really start to miss Beijing and my daily routine and friends there. But then I remember that even though I’m gone, I’ll always have that experience and those memories with me. And my experience now of law school, and in a few months marriage, is just another step in my life’s journey.

It’s been a long time

Wow. It’s been months and intermittently at that. The first year of law school sucked most of my time and a lot of my energy. But I honestly have missed blogging....but I knew this time it would be a different sort of blogging. Not the type of “journal” that I would write when I was living abroad, but maybe something a bit more professional and more insightful. Was I ready for the challenge?

Thank you for all the support! I appreciate new readers and old. I hope to fill you in on life happenings in the next few posts and try to get my mind around what I have learned in the past year......and what a year it has been!

Please keep up with the “Wedding” tab.....but that will be much different that this “Blog” tab.

I’m excited. Life is good. God is great!

Tarheels send-off

Robb and I went to the Tarheel send-off to the Sweet Sixteen a few weeks ago. It was a lot of fun (as usual). I’m happy they made it so far-- Elite 8! They went through a lot of adversity this year.... who would have thunk they would have made it this far?? (And of course it’s icy on the cake that DOOK choked in the Sweet Sixteen.) But watching all that basketball really had been reeking havoc on my law school studying...

Proud of the boys! I love tarheel basketball! See ya next season!

Tentative Wedding Plans

We will be applying to “The Today Show Wedding” on NBC and will find out if we are finalists in June. I think we have a unique story and it will be fun to apply, especially with my interest in media law. (Plus I have a huge crush on Tom Brokaw!) haha
